Getting started
Connect your Vinted account
This is the simplest step, and yet the one that worries people most, because it asks for no Vinted credentials at all.
The principle
Vintedge has no Vinted login form, and never will. The extension observes the Vinted session already open in your browser: the one you get by logging in to vinted.co.uk as usual.
In other words: your Vinted password never leaves Vinted. Vintedge does not see it, does not store it, and cannot ask for it.
What to do
- Log in to Vinted normally, in the same browser.
- Reload a Vinted page.
- That is all.
Within the next minute, the extension registers that account with your Vintedge account, and it appears in the list.
Checking
In the panel, Settings → Account, the Vinted accounts block:
- your recognized accounts are listed there (username, email);
- a counter shows how many you have out of how many your plan allows, for example 2 / 3;
- "No Vinted account connected" means the extension has not seen a session yet — reload a Vinted page.
The same information is visible in the status window, by clicking the Vintedge icon in the Chrome toolbar.
What sometimes blocks
"Account limit reached" — your plan allows 1 account (Starter) or 3 (Growth and Elite). To link one more, you have to move up a plan.
A waiting time before you can link an account — if you have just unlinked a Vinted account, a cooldown applies before you can link another one. The message tells you how many hours are left. It is a protection against subscription sharing.
"Vinted session inactive" — the extension has not seen a Vinted page for more than 24 hours. Open and reload a Vinted page.
Nothing happens after several minutes — if the very first registration failed
(a network drop at the wrong moment), the extension does not retry before its
next start. Reload the extension from chrome://extensions, or restart Chrome.
What about several Vinted accounts?
That is a subject of its own, because it does not work the way you would imagine: there is no account switcher in the extension. See the chapter How multi-account works.
