The extension day to day

Favorites

When someone favorites one of your items, they are interested but not buying. A message at the right moment turns some of those favorites into sales. That is what this tab does.

The list

Everyone who has favorited one or more of your items appears with their username, their avatar, the number of items involved and their status.

Filters: All · Contacted · Not contacted · Hidden.

Refresh re-reads your Vinted notifications and updates the list. Missing IDs and avatars are resolved in the background.

Sending a message

From a person's menu: Send message. You can also select several people and send in one go.

Bulk sending shows: "The message is sent to the first favorited item of each user. {userName} and {itemTitle} are replaced automatically." People already contacted are skipped, and the final report tells you so.

The golden rule: one person, one message

A person who has been contacted is never contacted twice.

This is not a cooldown, it is permanent. And the rule goes further: if the conversation already contains a message — even one sent by the buyer — Vintedge sends nothing and marks the person as contacted.

This caution has a precise and expensive reason. If the buyer has already made you an offer, posting a new offer in that thread would overwrite theirs. You would lose a sale that is already half closed. Vintedge would rather send nothing.

The consequence: if a buyer writes to you before the agent runs, it is up to you to answer them. They will show as "contacted" without having received your template message.

Fixing a wrong "contacted" status

If a send failed at the wrong moment (a network drop), a person can be marked as "contacted" without having received anything. The menu then offers Check the send on Vinted:

No message sent — user contactable againThe status was wrong, it is corrected

Writing your messages

Settings → Templates tab.

Two messages need filling in:

  • Default message — when the person has favorited only one item.
  • Bundle message — when they have favorited several. A single message goes out, not one per item.

Available variables: {firstName}, {userName}, {itemTitle}, {itemCount}.

The Detect first name from username option extracts the first name from usernames like 442Maxime57185 so that {firstName} can be used. If no first name can be detected, the If no first name detected, use field takes over; left empty, "Hello {firstName}," simply becomes "Hello,".

Dashboard templates

From the Growth plan on, you can create several templates on the dashboard and let Vintedge rotate between them. That is clearly better than the two default messages: you can see which wordings get the most replies and accepted offers, and iterate.

Two modes:

  • Manual — a single selected template.
  • Random — rotation according to weights you set as percentages. The percentages rebalance automatically to total 100.

Dashboard templates take precedence over the default messages. They are managed in Agents → Templates on the dashboard.

The Favorites agent

Settings → Agent tab. The agent watches your notifications and sends the message on its own.

SettingRoleDefault
Check intervalHow often it looks for new favorites10 min
Base delayWaiting time before sending, to imitate human typing120 s
VarianceRandom spread applied to the delay± 30 s
Min / max delayBounds of the actual delay90 s / 180 s
Process favorites receivedCatch-up window at startup. At 0, only new favorites count24 h

BurstsSometimes speeds up, to look less regularOff
Pause probabilityChance the agent stops for a while at the start of a pass10%

These settings all serve the same goal: not looking like a robot. Do not set them all to the minimum thinking you will go faster; an account that sends thirty identical messages in three minutes gets noticed.

Vinted's ceiling

Vinted limits sending to around twenty messages an hour. Beyond that, sends are refused — and insisting does not help your account.

Twenty messages an hour comes down to one message every three minutes, i.e. 180 seconds between two sends.

The default values (120 s base delay, plus or minus 30 s) produce one send every 90 to 150 seconds, that is 24 to 40 messages an hour. On a handful of favorites to contact, no problem: you will never reach the ceiling. On a large batch, on the other hand, you go over it.

Two pieces of advice follow from this:

  • If you have a lot of favorites to contact, raise the base delay to 180 seconds. You will stay under the ceiling from start to finish.
  • Never drop the minimum delay below 90 seconds. It will not make anything go out faster beyond the regulation twenty; it will only concentrate your sends and make them conspicuous.

The random pauses and the time range pull in the same direction: they naturally spread your sends across the day, which keeps you far from the ceiling without thinking about it.

The automatic offer

Settings → Offers tab (Growth plan minimum).

Turn on Send an automatic offer to attach an offer to the message:

  • Percentage of the price — for example 90%, so a €40 item offered at €36. The calculation always starts from the item's displayed price, never from a previous offer: there is no compounding effect.
  • Rounding — nearest, up, down, or none.

The offer is not sent if the conversation does not yet have an associated transaction, or if the item's price could not be read. The agent's log says so.

Following what the agent does

The Agent activity button opens its statistics: sent today, pending, errors, next action, and a detailed log.

There you will see entries such as "Outside active hours", "Anti-detection pause (12 min)", "Reply detected from …" or "N favoriters already in conversation marked as contacted".

Your Vinted has to be in French

This is the only language constraint in the whole of Vintedge, and it deserves an explanation, because it is far from obvious.

Why. Vinted does not provide a list of the people who have favorited your items. It provides your notifications — and the person's name only appears in the displayed sentence, of the form:

lea_vtg a marqué votre article Veste en jean délavée comme favori

To know who to contact, Vintedge therefore has to read that sentence and pull the username out of it. That reading is written for French.

What happens in another language. The sentence becomes "lea_vtg marked your item…", the reading no longer recognizes anything, and the agent detects no favorites at all. It does not pick the wrong person, it does not send a message to the wrong place: it simply sees nothing.

This is the most confusing symptom, because it produces no error: the agent runs, its log stays empty, and you think nothing is happening when everything works — except the reading.

The fix. Switch your Vinted account's interface to French, in the Vinted settings. It changes nothing for your buyers, nor for your listings, nor for prices: it is only your account's display language.

This constraint concerns favorite detection only. Reposting, sales, purchases, messages, shipping labels and the whole dashboard work in any language — they rely on identifiers, not on displayed text.

If you sell on a foreign Vinted (.it, .de, .co.uk…), the domain does not matter at all: it is the display language that counts, not the country.
