The AI assistant

The AI assistant answers your buyers' real messages — the questions a pre-recorded text cannot answer: "how does it fit?", "do you do bundles?", "what material is it?".

You configure it in Auto-Messages → AI tab. It requires the Elite plan.

The principle: it only says what you give it

This is the central rule, and it is strict:

The AI will only say what appears in your list of facts. It invents nothing.

If you have not told it that you ship within 24 hours, it will not say so. If you have not told it that the measurements are on the photos, it will not claim that.

It does, however, have the actual characteristics of the item in question: title, description, brand, size, color, material, condition, category, price. So it can correctly answer "what size is it?" without you configuring anything.

Auto language is valuable: an Italian buyer on vinted.it gets a reply in Italian, with nothing for you to do.

Writing a good profile

One sentence is enough, but it sets the tone of every reply:

Marie, I sell my vintage clothes in Paris, I ship within 24 h.

Writing good facts

This is where the quality of the answers is decided. Each fact has a label and some content, and can be switched on or off.

Useful examples:

LabelContent
MeasurementsThe measurements are on the last photo of each listing.
Shipping timeI ship within 24 working hours, Monday to Friday.
BundlesI do bundles from 2 items, with a discount I work out case by case.
NegotiationI accept reasonable offers, but I do not go below 60% of the listed price.
PackagingI ship in a box or a reinforced envelope, never a plain plastic bag.
ConditionEvery flaw is photographed. If there is no photo of a flaw, there is no flaw.

At most around thirty active facts are passed on. Write ten good ones rather than thirty vague ones, and switch off the ones that are no longer true.

What anti-burst does

At 0, the AI replies to every message. If a buyer sends three messages in a row, it replies only once — to the last one — thanks to automatic grouping.

Raising anti-burst to a few minutes prevents a very active conversation from generating several replies one after another.

What keeps it from going off the rails

Three protections, stacked:

  1. It never replies to its own messages. The sender of each message is positively checked.
  2. If the incoming message is identical to its last reply, it stops — protection against loops.
  3. A budget per pass limits the number of replies generated, so that an incident does not produce ten replies in a minute.

When it does not reply

  • Message too old for your window.
  • Daily AI quota used up: it falls back on the trigger's template message if there is one, otherwise it does nothing.
  • Technical problem on the AI service side: same behavior, fallback to the text.
  • Insufficient plan: it stops dead, with no fallback.

The agent's log says which of these cases occurred.

What to do before switching it on

  1. Write your profile and at least five facts.
  2. Leave the tone on Casual and the language on Auto.
  3. Set "do not reply to messages older than" to 24 h.
  4. Switch it on, then reread every reply sent over two days.

The AI answers your customers in your name. Two days of proofreading is a bargain.

What it does not do

The AI only handles incoming messages. The sale and purchase triggers (order paid, parcel shipped…) stay fixed texts, by choice: those messages need to be predictable.

Nor does it negotiate: offers are handled by automatic negotiation.
